Alec Tseung, CFA

Alec Tseung is the Co-founder and Partner in KT Capital Group and has acted as the interim CFO for a few portfolio companies.

He was responsible for a wide range of investments and transactions (venture/growth, buyout, direct secondaries, etc.) totaling > $5bn.

Previously with Tencent, he was responsible for the group’s investments in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Before Tencent, he was in Swiss Re’s Principal Investments team driving the group’s investments in financial services and Fintech sectors in APAC.

Jacob Cheng

Jacob Cheng is a Partner in KT Capital Group with professional investment experience from top international asset managers.

He was in Macquarie Asset Management, co-managing AUD 3bn of listed real estate portfolio. Before Macquarie, Jacob was with APG Asset Management, co-managing EUR 6bn portfolio, one of the largest real estate funds in Asia. He led the USD 200m cornerstone investment in the IPO of Dalian Wanda Commercial Properties, which is the largest shopping mall developer and landlord in China.

Jacob has 3 years of investment banking experience in BofAML. He has strong experience in executing equity, debt, M&A deals across different sectors incl. real estate, consumer & retail, as well as TMT.

Fern Wang, CFA

Fern Wang is the Head of Research at KT Capital Group and a seasoned financial market professional with a robust background in research as well as evaluating and enhancing risk practices for leading financial institutions.

With extensive experience across major financial hubs including Hong Kong, Shanghai, and New York, she has developed a strong knowledge and expertise in the financial industry, particularly within the banking and fintech sectors.

Fern has worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Moody’s, S&P Global, and one of China’s top 10 independent fintech companies, VCredit (SEHK: 2003).

A graduate of New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business with an MBA, Fern holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations.

Temirlan Mukhanbetzhanov, CFA

Temrilan Mukhanbetzhanov is an Advisor to KT Capital Group and leverages his deep expertise and experience in spearheading the development of Kazakhstan’s financial markets to advise the Group’s clients and partners in emerging and frontier markets.

He is currently also a Director on the board of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Authority. Most recently, Temirlan held the role of Acting CEO and Chief Clients Officer at the Authority, where he led strategic initiatives to promote institutional growth and enhance client engagement. Previously, he also held several senior leadership positions within the AIFC, including its Deputy CEO and Managing Director.

Prior to joining the AIFC, Termirlan served as the Deputy CEO of the National Investment Corporation of the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the Advisor to the CEO of Kazakhstan’s sovereign wealth fund, Samruk-Kazyna.

He is a graduate of KIMEP University and the University of Edinburgh, as well as a CFA Charterholder.

Alibek Salimbetov

Alibek Salimbetov is an Advisor to KT Capital Group and leverages his expertise in deal-making and investment strategy to enhance the Group’s advisory and principal investing activities.

He brings a wealth of experience as a deal specialist and investment professional, with a track record of advising on strategic deals and conducting due diligence for acquisitions, sales, and IPO strategies.

With over a decade of experience, including his role at McKinsey & Company, where he worked on >30 projects across various sectors, including TMT, business services, and industrials, Alibek has been instrumental in supporting private equity firms and investors in buying, scaling, and maximizing value in their portfolios.

He is a graduate of Nazarbayev University and with an MBA from INSEAD.

Alexander Klimchuk

Alexander Klimchuk is an Advisor to KT Capital Group’s Mining team. He brings >15 years of extensive international experience in the mining sector to his role, focusing on enhancing the fund’s investment strategies and project evaluations. As an expert in mining engineering, Alexander has a proven track record of leading technical and economic assessments, strategic planning, and the execution of complex projects globally.

His career includes significant roles where he led the evaluation and development of key mining projects already within the fund’s portfolio in regions including the USA, Canada, and Australia, enhancing operational efficiency and profitability. Previously, Alexander served as a mining expert at McKinsey & Company, where he managed over 30 projects in various regions including Russia, Kazakhstan, Canada, and the USA, focusing on operational efficiency, best practices implementation, and business transformation.

He holds a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering from Federation University Australia and an Engineering degree in Underground Mining from Moscow State Mining University. Alexander is a member of the AusIMM (Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy).
